Thank you for considering Garden Lane Photography for your custom Portraiture! Photography has been a lifelong passion for me since childhood when my dad gave me my very first Polaroid Instant Camera. I have spent years honing my skills and developing the style you see today. Photography with GLP is not static or boring. Your session will not be a “cookie-cutter chain store” experience. The more time and energy you put into your own session, the better your memories and images will be.
When you’re ready to invest the time in your family’s photos, please check out the VIP Lounge for more information regarding how to schedule your session and to pay your Session Fee via Pay Pal.
As a young girl I knew I loved to travel and experience new and exciting places and people. I spent summers working in Northern Ireland with kids of different faiths and backgrounds and traveling through Europe. I was lucky enough to spend almost a year in Japan. The thousands of photos I took on those trips detail my coming of age and the development of my true passion: documenting my own experiences and the lives of those whom I encountered. If you had asked me then what I wanted to do for a living, I would have shouted “PHOTOGRAPH THE WORLD”! Well, my parents shook their heads and reminded me to get a degree with a marketable skill; thus, my degrees in English, Philosophy, Irish Studies (yes!) and Japanese. I searched and searched for my marketable skill, all the while pursuing photography as a passionate hobby. After being in the workforce as a Corporate Trainer and Designer for years, I left to begin my family, and then had an epiphany. My passion for my hobby can become my marketable skill!
After many years of various workshops, classes, trial and error and study of the classics in Art, I have developed my very own style of photography capturing Light and Life. I call it Photography for the Modern Family because you will not find static smiles or goofy fake glares in my photographs. I watch for the subtleties of your lives and capture those “in-between” moments of sweet glances, mischievous smiles and tender outtakes that we want to remember forever. I believe that the great American photographer, Dorthea Lange said it best: “The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera”. Don’t let those little moments slip away and be forgotten.
This style is most similar to a Photojournalistic or Documentary style photography. If I can help you answer any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at 732.610.2437 or Email Me!
Below are some of my very favorites of my own kids.
